Is this all over the place lately or what? Something in particular stirring up the venom? Is there paranoia that if we don't talk about this stuff it will happen?

Not just that, but the whole "experimental" writing discussion at SH. It's like the fundamentalists want their short declarative sentences back.
The real trouble, of course, is all these Rowes and Rosenbaums getting nominations for awards that are supposed to go to manly science stories.
