Apparently running cheap liquor through a Brita water filter makes it taste much better.

Somehow, I feel as if this is really valuable information. I don't know why, since I don't drink enough hard alcohol anymore to even buy a fifth of vodka, but this has to come in handy sometime, somewhere.
We're going to give it a try -- although it may take a couple of days to acquire crap vodka, good vodka, and some filters for the Brita jug that has been sitting unused for a while. Wish us luck, or send vodka.
If I were still living in Youngstown, I would try this trick. For some reason, living in Japan, I don't feel as interested in doing it. But I'm certainly going to save it up for whenever I'm living back in the states again, because I just know as soon as I set foot on U.S. soil again that I'll probably want a drink of hard alcohol.
